BEE

In step with South Africa

Van's Auctioneers is happy to associate itself with the official policy of South Africa, namely that its operations should increasingly reflect the population mix of the country. The company regards its participation in this policy as a natural asset in attracting and conducting business within the total economy, which is indivisible on the basis of race, gender, religion, physical handicap and any other population segment.

The approach of Van's Auctioneers in its BEE Policy is:

The firm thus being assisted is Maleka's Auctioneers, which we believe has the potential to become a major Black empowerment group. Once the training period is complete and Maleka's Auctioneers have gained the necessary experience, the door is open for complete amalgamation between the two companies on an equal-partner basis.

Van's good faith in this approach is confirmed by the high stature of the principal behind Maleka's Auctioneers, namely Mr Moses Moche, with whom we have chosen to embark on our mentorship programme. Mr Moche has a high profile as former sheriff, auctioneer and businessman, and held a senior position in the former North West Development Corporation. We believe that by teaming up with his undertaking on the stated basis, our amalgamation is between equals to create a structure in which both are truly representative as well as dedicated to high standards of operation.
